Abstract We optimally estimate the similarity (rotation, translation, and scale change) between two sets of 3-D data in the presence of inhomogeneous and anisotropic noise. Adopting the Lie algebra representation of the 3-D rotational change, we derive the Levenberg-Marquardt procedure for simultaneously optimizing the rotation, the translation, and the scale change. We test the performance of our method using simulated stereo data and real GPS geodetic sensing data. We conclude that the conventional method assuming homogeneous and isotropic noise is insufficient and that our simultaneous optimization scheme can produce an accurate solution.

Abstract We present a new method for optimally computing the 3-D rotation from two sets of 3-D data. Unlike 2-D data, the noise in 3-D data is inherently inhomogeneous and anisotropic, reflecting the characteristics of the 3-D sensing used. To cope with this, Ohta and Kanatani introduced a technique called “renormalization”. Following them, we represent a 3-D rotation in terms of a quaternion and compute an exact maximum likelihood solution using the FNS of Chojnacki et al. As an example, we consider 3-D data obtained by stereo vision and optimally compute the 3-D rotation by analyzing the noise characteristics of stereo reconstruction. We show that the widely used method is not suitable for 3-D data. We confirm that the renormalization of Ohta and Kanatani indeed computes almost an optimal solution and that, although the difference is small, the proposed method can compute an even better solution.

Abstract We present a new least squares (LS) estimator, called “HyperLS”, specifically designed for parameter estimation in computer vision applications. It minimizes the algebraic distance under a special scale normalization, which is derived by rigorous error analysis in such a way that statistical bias is removed up to second order noise terms. Numerical experiments suggest that our HyperLS is far superior to the standard LS and comparable in accuracy to maximum likelihood (ML), which is known to produce highly accurate results in image applications but may fail to converge if poorly initialized. Our HyperLS is a perfect candidate for ML initialization. In addition, we discuss how image-based inference problems have different characteristics form conventional statistical applications, with a view to serving as a bridge between mathematicians and computer engineers.

Abstract We present highly accurate least-squares (LS) alternatives to the theoretically optimal maximum likelihood (ML) estimator for homographies between two images. Unlike ML, our estimators are non-iterative and yield solutions even in the presence of large noise. By rigorous error analysis, we derive a “hyperaccurate” estimator which is unbiased up to second order noise terms. Then, we introduce a computational simplification, which we call “Taubin approximation”, without incurring a loss in accuracy. We experimentally demonstrate that our estimators have accuracy surpassing the traditional LS estimator and comparable to the ML estimator.

Abstract We present an alternative approach to what we call the “standard optimization”, which minimizes a cost function by searching a parameter space. Instead, the input is “orthogonally projected” in the joint input space onto the manifold defined by the “consistency constraint”, which demands that any minimal subset of observations produce the same result. This approach avoids many difficulties encountered in the standard optimization. As typical examples, we apply it to line fitting and multiview triangulation. The latter produces a new algorithm far more efficient than existing methods. We also discuss optimality of our approach.

Abstract 本研究は,養育者の子育てにおける「歌う行為」に着目し,養育者の立場からその可能性について検討することを目的とした。パイロットスタディとして実施した3名の子育て中の母親への質問紙調査およびグループインタビュー調査を通して,母親の「歌う行為」の様相を探り,子育てにおける有用性について検討した。<br/> その結果,「歌う行為」には,子どもがある行動をとることへの意欲を高めたり,否定的な気持ちを好転させたりする感情の切り替え手段としての有用性のあることが示唆された。言葉だけで伝えるよりも,子どもが好きな歌や多様な音声表現を用いた方が,子どもに受け入れられやすいこと,音楽的な特性自体が子どもの感情に響きやすいことも示された。また,「歌う行為」には,了解可能なメッセージを共有し,親子が楽しく養育行動を進める触媒と成り得る可能性が見出された。
Abstract Alternative The purpose of the present study was to examine the potential of “singing activities” in child-rearing, facilitated by care-givers, from the perspective of the care-givers. A pilot study constituted a survey and group interviews of three mothers currently involved in child-rearing. The effect of mothers’singing activities on child-rearing was considered in various contexts. The results suggested that singing activities have the potential to increase motivation of children to take the initiative in certain behaviors or in altering children’s negative mood to a positive focus. Rather than solely relying on words to influence children, they are more likely to respond, accept, and eventually embrace a message conveyed through their favorite songs or diverse vocal expressions. In short, messages conveyed through singing activities are more likely to resonate with children’ s emotions. Furthermore, singing activities could work as a catalyst for fun-filled and enjoyable growth for both care-givers and children in the process of child-rearing and development by allowing them to share intelligible messages with each other.

Abstract  2019 年度に改訂された幼稚園教諭養成の教職課程に設置される「領域及び保育内容の指導法に関する科目」は,「領域に関する専門的事項」と「保育内容の指導法(情報機器及び教材の活用を含む。)」より構成される。本研究では,従来の「教科に関する科目」が撤廃されたことにより新設された「領域に関する専門的事項」の科目において,具体的にどのような専門知識の学修を要するかについて,「保育内容の指導法」のモデルカリキュラム,及び新幼稚園教育要領の記載内容に照らして検討した。その結果,養成課程の学生自身が領域「言葉」のねらいや内容等を専門的見地から理解して保育実践のための知識や技能を修得することに加え,感じたり,考えたり等の体験的な学びから幼児の視点で言葉の世界をイメージする内容を授業に取り入れる必要性を見出した。

Abstract  本研究は,学校・地域・親子をつなぐ「共に歌う」活動としての「みんなで歌おう音楽会」の実践について,その意義と課題について検討することを目的とした。本稿では,特に,実践の経緯と概要を報告しつつ,あわせて,音楽会終演後に実施した参加者対象のアンケート調査を取り上げ考察した。その結果,本実践が,「共に歌うこと」の大切さと「日本文化としての唱歌や日本のうたの継承」の大切さについて,その一端を伝える機会になったことが明らかとなった。また,子育て支援の点からも機能していることが認められた。

Title Alternative The Research Trends of Reading Picture-Books to Children in a Whole Group Activity in  Early Childhood Education and Care

Abstract 本研究では,日常の保育で頻繁に行われる,集団での絵本の読み聞かせに関する実践的な研究を概観し,充実した絵本の読み聞かせのあり方に関する知見の整理を試みた。その結果,絵本の読み聞かせ場面における幼児の言動は年齢に沿って変化し,4歳児から5歳児に至る過程において,集団という特徴が活かされるようになることが明らかになった。  3歳児では,保育者と幼児の個別の関係性が優位であったが,4歳児では徐々に幼児間の相互作用が広がり,他児の発話を繰り返したり,幼児と笑い合ったり等,他児を意識し,一緒に楽しむ共有化が進む。さらに,5歳児になると友達と共に内容の展開を楽しみながら,集団での読み聞かせのマナーを心得た態度を示しつつ,個別の言動の表出を調整する姿が見られるようになることが示された。質の高い読み聞かせにより,幼児の確かな言葉の発達を促す機会に成り得ることが確認された。

Title Alternative Educational Effects of Various Team Childcare Styles in Preschool Education

Abstract 本論は,幼稚園で実践されているティーム保育について,その多様な形態を分類することを目的に,1県内全域の幼稚園に対する質問紙調査を行い,実証的に明らかにしたものである。ティーム保育の形態の分類は,保育経験豊富な研究協力者によって,質問紙調査の結果を基にしたグループディスカッションで検討され,各形態に見る教育効果や特性,運営上の課題が精査された。その結果,園内の全教師が1つのティームとなり,全園児を全教師で保育するという意識を強く持っていることが明らかになった。そのことを前提に,ティーム保育の形態について,次に示す3つの分類が見出された:①「教師の配置に注目したティーム保育の形態」,②「保育内容や生活を重視したティーム保育の形態」,③「幼児理解や保育等に関する保育時間外のティーム保育の形態」。
Abstract Alternative The purpose of this study is to classify various styles of team childcare practicing in preschools. We adopted a questionnaire method to preschool teachers in a prefecture to research it empirically. The classification of team childcare styles was discussed based on the results of our questionnaire by co-researchers who has enough experiences of childcare, and we could examine educational effect, characteristics, and some problems of each team childcare style. As a result, it is clear that all teachers in the same preschool become members of team, and they are strongly conscious of “all teachers for all children.” Based on the premise mentioned, three categories of team childcare styles are found; 1) A team childcare style to focus on teachers’ arrangement, 2) A team childcare style to put emphasis on contents of childcare and life, and 3) A team childcare style after a childcare time on child understanding, childcare and so on.

Abstract  本研究では,私的な子育てをめぐる雇用条件や職場の状況といった環境要因,保育者の私的な子育てに対する認識という個人の内的要因の両面から,保育士にとっての私的な子育てをめぐる現況を整理した。  その結果,両立するにあたっては,多様な働き方改革の制度を利用し,離職しなくても一時的に仕事よりも家庭生活・子育てを重視した生き方を実現できる可能性が拓かれてきていることが確認された。また,両立の困難に対処する中で保育の専門性が洗練されている事実も確認出来た。また,従来,子育てとの両立で最も大変な時期は,子どもの就学までと捉えられがちであったが,それ以降の発達期にも引き続き,時間とエネルギーを要する可能性が示唆された。保育士が捉える私的な子育てのより詳細な検討課題として見出された。
Abstract Alternative  In this research, the present situation of private child-rearing to childcare worker had been organized here from the viewpoints of environmental factors such as employment conditions related to private child-rearing and from the viewpoints of the personal internal factors such as the understanding of private child-rearing of childcare worker. As a result, in order to achieve the coexistence of both family and work, it is found that the system of various working style reforms has been utilized. Also, in dealing with the difficulties of both family and work, it is found that the expertise of childcare was refined. Finally, the results of this study are discussed and future problems are described.

Title Alternative Development of Junior High School Home Economics Classes Related to Contact With Infants that Encourages Self-acceptance

Abstract  中学生の幼児との触れ合い体験の意義については,先行研究によって示されてきたが,体験の何が効果を及ぼしているのか,実証的な研究は未だ少ない。そこで本論では,「他者から受容される経験が,自己受容を促す」との実践的な仮説を立て,触れ合い体験による他者から受容される経験が,自己受容を促す可能性を検討する。触れ合い体験において,幼児は先入観や条件なしに関わってくることが予想される。そのような幼児に受容される体験は,生徒にとって日常的な人間関係とは異なる,得難い経験となり得る。そこを意図的に強化することで,合理的に意義ある授業を作ることが可能となると考える。また,将来の子育てに繋がる,長期的な効果も期待できる。本論では,こうした仮説に基づき,生徒の自己受容に焦点を当て,これを促す中学校家庭科保育領域の授業を開発し報告した。
Abstract Alternative The significance of junior high school students’ experience of contact with infants has been shown in previous studies, but there has not been enough empirical research on which part of the experience produces effects. Therefore, in this paper, we form a hypothesis that “experience of acceptance others encourages self-acceptance” and examine the possibility that the experience of acceptance from others we gain through contact encourages self-acceptance. Infants are expected to be involved in contact experiences with no preconceptions or conditions. The experience of acceptance by infants is a rare experience that differs from daily interpersonal relationships for students. It may be possible to rationally develop meaningful classes by intentionally reinforcing it. Furthermore, long-term effects that translate into future child-rearing can be expected. In this paper, based on the aforementioned hypothesis, we focused on the self-acceptance of students to develop and report on home economics classes that encourage it.
