樹枝状チタン輝石の微形態

抄録
Dendritic titanaugite in ultrabasic picrite basalt from the Mineoka tectonic belt, Boso peninsula shows two contrastive morphology such as ; 1) ferny type and 2) skeletal type. Scanning electron microscopic observation reveals that there are three types of morphology as follows; 1) the cluster of needle crystals (Plate I-2, 3), 2) the pile of rail or fence like crystals (Plate II), 3) the stepped crystals (Plate III). The needle crystals have the cross section of distorted ellipsoid with 2 to 5μm in long diameter. The skeletal type morphology is ascribed to the cross section of the pile of rail or fence like crystals. The ferny type morphology comprises the clusters of needle and rail or fence like crystals.
