The levels of certain chemicals in the serum of chlordane wokers also were determined. The increase in the body weight of rats administered chlordane was suppressed compared to control rats. Liver weights of rats administered chlordane were significantly (p<0.01) greater than those of control rats. Levels of moisture, total lipid, triglycerides and phospholipid per gram liver of rats administered chlordane were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those of control rats. Levels of lipid peroxide of rats administered chlordane were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those of control rats, and increased according to increases in the amount of chlordane administered. Levers of DNP-stimulated ATPase activity in the liver mitochondria of rats administered chlordane were lower than those of control rats. State 4 respiration in the mitochondria of rats administered chlordane was greater than those of control rats. State 3 respiration was the same in both groups. As a result, the respiratory control index (RCI) of administered rats was lower than those of control rats. Levels of triglycerides, total cholesterol and γ-GTP activity in the serum of rats administered chlordane were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those of control rats. Levels of blood suger of rats administered chlordane were significantly (p<0.05) lower than those of control rats. Levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, activity of CPK and LDH of several tested chlordane wokers were higher than the upper limit of normal persons. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=MoriTakaaki en-aut-sei=Mori en-aut-mei=Takaaki kn-aut-name=森孝昭 kn-aut-sei=森 kn-aut-mei=孝昭 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部公衆衛生教室 en-keyword=テクニカルクロルデン kn-keyword=テクニカルクロルデン en-keyword=過酸化脂質 kn-keyword=過酸化脂質 en-keyword=中性脂肪 kn-keyword=中性脂肪 en-keyword=酸化的リン酸化反応 kn-keyword=酸化的リン酸化反応 en-keyword=CPK活性 kn-keyword=CPK活性 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=98 cd-vols= no-issue=7-8 article-no= start-page=587 end-page=597 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1986 dt-pub=19860830 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=The effect of chlorinated monoaromatic hydrocarbons on biological membranes(Comparison of the effect of chlorobenzenes and chlorophenols on biomembranes) kn-title=塩化ベンゼンの生体膜に対する作用 第W報 分離正常ラット肝ミトコンドリアにおける塩化ベンゼン及び塩化フェノールの作用の比較 en-subtitle= kn-subtitle= en-abstract= kn-abstract=A comparative study on the effect of chlorobenzenes and chlorophenols on mitochondrial membranes was conducted. An increase in chlorine residue from both chlorobenzenes and chlorophenols caused a decrease in respiratory control index (RCI). Chlorophenols acted on biomembranes at a lower concentration than chlorobenzenes. The compounds decreased RCI by increasing state 4 respiration and decreasing state 3 respiration. As the number of chlorine atoms on chlorobenzenes increased, state 3 respiration decreased, causing a decrease in RCI. As the number of chlorine atoms on chlorophenols increased, state 4 respiration increased, causing a decreased in RCI. The amount of potassium released from mitochondrial membranes increased with time after addition of dichlorobenzene and dichlorophenol. A logarithmic increase in potassium release vs. time was observed with dichlorobenzene, and a liner increase in potassium release was observed with dichlorophenol. en-copyright= kn-copyright= en-aut-name=MoriTakaaki en-aut-sei=Mori en-aut-mei=Takaaki kn-aut-name=森孝昭 kn-aut-sei=森 kn-aut-mei=孝昭 aut-affil-num=1 ORCID= affil-num=1 en-affil= kn-affil=岡山大学医学部公衆衛生 en-keyword=ミトコンドリア kn-keyword=ミトコンドリア en-keyword=酸化的リン酸化反応 kn-keyword=酸化的リン酸化反応 en-keyword=塩化ベンゼン類 kn-keyword=塩化ベンゼン類 en-keyword=塩化フェノール類 kn-keyword=塩化フェノール類 en-keyword=K(+)遊出作用 kn-keyword=K(+)遊出作用 END start-ver=1.4 cd-journal=joma no-vol=94 cd-vols= no-issue=11-12 article-no= start-page=967 end-page=972 dt-received= dt-revised= dt-accepted= dt-pub-year=1982 dt-pub=19821230 dt-online= en-article= kn-article= en-subject= kn-subject= en-title=Effect of chlorinated monoaromatic hydrocarbons on biological membranes (3. The effects of o-DCB on rats were compared with control rats given water containing the same percent of gum arabic. The following results were obtained: 1. The livers of rats administered o-DCB were slightly heavier than those of control rats. 2. Triglyceride levels of rats administered o-DCB were higher than those of control rats. The level of triglyceride in rats administered o-DCB tended to increase according to the duration of o-DCB administration. 3. The level of ATP in the liver of rats administered o-DCB was significantly lower than that in the liver of control rats. 4. The respiratory control of liver mitochondria of rats administered o-DCB decreased in state3 respiration, and increased in state4 respiration.
